Kelley Collins

Kelley Collins is the Director of Business Development and Communications for the Lightning Protection Institute and an Independent Consultant for business strategy, marketing and communications. She has spent over 25 years in executive management, sales and marketing within the science and technology industries.  For the past 10 years, she has also been involved in developing and instructing the science communication program for PhD students at Northwestern University.

Kelley lives in Libertyville with her teenage son and daughter – their golden retriever Stanley and their rabbit BooBoo. Her lifetime passion of psychology and neuroscience has been fulfilled through classes and personal research. Her personal experience with abuse inspired her to find a place to give back and help others navigate life’s challenges.

“I have experienced the mental exhaustion and changes in life’s path due to abuse – both emotional and physical. I have watched the negative impact on children. And, as I watch teenagers struggle to find confidence and conquer daily social challenges, I knew that I wanted to be a part of finding solutions.”  After meeting dedicated staff and board members and gaining a clear understanding of their programs Kelley said, “This is The Place!  She intends to use her business skills and life experiences to further the growth of the CYN Counseling Center so that others can get the help and support that they need.
