she/her or they/them
Laura Tatgenhorst received her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Loyola University in the fall of 2021. Throughout her therapeutic career, Laura has specialized in working with the LGBTQ+ community, the neurodivergent community, and those who have been impacted by trauma. Laura also has an interest in art through a therapeutic lens due to having a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She loves to incorporate her love of art and expressive forms of therapy into her practice with her clients. Laura is a current volunteer facilitator at the LGBTQ Center of Lake County.
Laura practices therapy through a trauma informed lens and is mindful towards those who are neurodivergent, marginalized, or struggling in any way. Laura practices with a strengths based perspective and explores concepts of CBT and DBT. She is interested in the intersection of art/creativity in conjunction with how youth form their identity and loves to have conversations with clients about what makes them unique for who they are.
