Ashley Peters, BS

she/her/hers

Ashley graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. After graduating, she spent 9 years working in the McHenry Emergency Room where she found my passion for helping those in need. After leaving the hospital, she spent two years working as a Case Manager for DCFS youth in a residential setting at Allendale Association in Lake Villa, then spent the past 5 months working for Gateway Foundation out of the Sherman Hospital in Elgin meeting with patients struggling with substance use and identifying and coordinating placement in the appropriate treatment facility. Although she did enjoy helping individuals on their path to recovery, deep down she felt pulled back to working with child and family services.

“I have unfortunately seen firsthand what life looks like for youth who have no other options for placement but residential care, so I am excited to work as an Intact Child Welfare Specialist, and hopeful help to identify the necessary services to keep children with their families.”
